It was deemed to be a tough battle between both African giants who has accounted for eight triumphs in AFCON tournaments but it panned out to be one sided as the Super Eagles soar higher over the Indomitable Lions over the two legs.

Nigeria is on the verge of clinching a World Cup berth after picking four points out of a possible six against Cameroon. The Super Eagles pummeled Cameroon 4-0 in Uyo, Nigeria before holding the African Champions to a 1-1 draw in Yaounde thereby Cameroon’s hope of qualifying for next year Mundial.

The result means Nigeria maintained her lead on top on the log with 10 points with Zambia on five points while Cameroon and Algeria are on two points and 1 point respectively.

Nigeria will need a win in their next game at home to Zambia to finally secure qualification.

Algeria and Zambia are due to play each other later today.
