Thomas Markle Snr., father to the royal bride-to-be, Meghan Markle has said her mother, Doria Ragland, should walk her down the aisle in his place after he pulled out of the wedding at the last minute, reasons being that news emerged that he made a deal with paparazzi to take his photos for a fee. He felt shame that he made a deal with a paparazzi agency that photographed him in staged shots, therefore, he decided to pull out of the wedding so as not to embarrass his daughter and the royal family further.
Thomas Markle Sr. believes his ex-wife Doria Ragland would be a “good choice” to give their daughter away at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, when she married Prince Harry on Saturday, May 19.
TMZ is reporting that the palace was caught off-guard about Meghan’s dad’s decision and hastily sent out the statement about the matter.
Thomas also confirmed he had suffered a heart attack six days ago and had left hospital early in anticipation of attending the event. He told TMZ that since the incident about the photos was revealed, he has been having renewed heart pains because of the “emotional distress.” He also said he hasn’t heard from his daughter since he confirmed to the gossip site that he would not be attending the wedding.
