NFF Confirms Appointment Of New Goalkeeper Trainer For Super Eagles

Ahead of the all important World Cup qualifier clash with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in August, Super Eagles of Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr has appointed a new goalkeeper trainer for the team, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed.

NFF Communications Director Ademola Olajire confirmed this appointment in a chat with Brila FM. According to Olajire, the coach will arrive Kano alongside the newly appointed goalkeeper trainer whose name is not known yet, but his appointment has been approved by the NFF.

The new coach will team up with the team in Kano, where he will run the rule on the goalkeepers invited for the upcoming CHAN Qualifiers.

He is expected to work alongside incumbent goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu, although reports have it that the coach has lost confidence in Agu as his goalkeeper trainer.

“I may not be specific but what I can say is he’s expected to see the CHAN team in Kano. ‘He wants to be there to see what they are doing and especially to look out for a home based goalkeeper, one of whom could be in goal in the match against Cameroon and
probably Zambia,” Olajire said.
