Africa’s global entertainer, Dapo Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj has made the dreams of hundreds of talents in entertainment come true with his innovative digital musical talent hunt platform, CREAM.
CREAM, an acronym for Creativity, Reality, Entertainment, Arts, and Music, on Wednesday marked one year of bringing visible hope to the lives of many Nigerian youths buzzing with talents and energy to excel.
At a press parley to share the success story of the reality and talent hunt platform, the Chief Operating Officer (COO), DKM Media Limited, CREAM’s Head of Digital, Harold Olamilokun, said, it was conceived 18 months ago, during an in-house discussion. The idea of CREAM to put life into dreams and talents came following requests that inundated D’banj’s and DKM’s mails for support to lift talents from grass to grace.
The team, he said, put on the thinking caps and churned out a model that will be instantaneous and less stressful for the numerous talents and the company.
Eventually, he continued, “the CREAM’ s platform was created with a USSD platform to reach these hungry talents and within two weeks, over 100, 000 subscribers were in with more listed from Jos, Kaduna, Kano, with over 30, 000 uploaded songs and 15,000 videos.
Eventually, in one year, on its anniversary, over three million subscribers, Olamilokun disclosed have been listed.
Outstanding among the talents was Pastor Courage, who on his own uploaded the CREAM’s theme song and in few weeks, the video was uploaded for its rich content and quality. Other lucky talents that got the nod of the company include Da Diva and TK Swag among others.
With the Lottery, many lucky winners have emerged taking home cash wins every month.
Many of the participants saw hope in the face of D’banj and a lot of people participated for the cash and not the music and video, Dbanj revealed.
One of the winners, Slim B from Okokomaiko full of excitement, jumped out of the crowd to hail D’banj and Harrysong.
Also, a lucky winner, Anthony Nwankwo from Enugu State said that prior to his participation in the lottery, he had played many with popular names and was never called or won.
“This is the first time I will win a lottery and I’m very grateful to D’banj for making my dream come true.’
The opportunity is not limited to a category, it is open to various talents, including sports, popular event host, Jimi disclosed.
Also newly introduced are the entrepreneurship and educational scholarship categories to make many dreams come true.
D’banj acknowledged the support telecom giant, MTN, which he described as the biggest partner and commended the management for believing in his vision. He gave kudos to the Bank of Industry (BOI) who he is the Ambassador and raised the thumbs up for the bank’s commitment to support the entertainment industry.
“BOI, gave me the first money, N50m to float the company to establish KOKO Gari and the CREAM Platform and we have since paid back the loan,” he declared.
Yearly, he promised different winners would emerge, one from the Lottery and the CREAM’s Reality winner.
He further revealed plans to float a radio platform, facilitate more collaborations with outstanding talents on the CREAM’s platform and accommodate more mentors. Present at the event to celebrate with the former Mo’Hits star were On-Air-Personality AOP, Denrele Edun and Altar Plate’s music sensation, Harrysong and MTV Base’s presenter, Ehiz.
Harrysong, one of the mentors thanked D’banj for floating the CREAM platform that gives hope to fresh talents.

At the event, several talents and winners of the lottery in the past few months were presented cheques and the winners of the August Draw, which coincides with the CREAM’s one year of operation were announced.
The categories winner emerged include-Music, Videos, Collaboratios, Showcase and Showbiz. While not less than a 395, 831 participated in the August edition, the Showbiz Category has the highest participation with 38.40per cent.
The CREAM is 100 percent a Nigerian brand.
