Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun Seen With Buhari Amid NYSC Certificate Forgery Scandal

Nigeria’s finance minister, Kemi Adeosun who is in the middle of an alleged certificate forgery scandal, was seen earlier today with president Muhammadu Buhari and AFREXIMBank Board of Directors in State House, Abuja.

Adeosun’s official credentials showed that she parades a purported fake National Youth Service Corps NYSC exemption certificate, which was issued in September 2009, granting her exemption from the mandatory service on account of age. According to reports, Adeosun failed to participate in the mandatory NYSC scheme after completing her university education in London.

The meeting today with the AFREXIMBank was attended by government officials including the minister accused of forgery.

This is coming after the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday said since the National Youth Service Corps, which is part of government, had spoken on the alleged certificate forgery involving the Minister, then the government had spoken on the matter.

Mohammed spoke with State House correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said he had nothing to add to the press statement issued by the NYSC on the matter.

“The government has spoken. NYSC is part of government and I have nothing to add to what the NYSC has said,” the minister said.
