A Facebook user, Aremu Afolabi Omo Yoruba has called on erstwhile wife of Ooni of Ife, Zeynab Otiti-Obanor to drop the title of ‘Olori of Ooni of Ife’ following her statement in the media that she’s no longer married to the Ife monarch.
Aremu also contented that Zeynab should cease to be addressed as ‘Queen’ or ‘Her Majesty’ since she has never reigned or ruled like the respected Queen of England.
The former wife of Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, had issued a statement last week to announce that she’s no longer married to the monarch, dropped his name from her social media pages and reverted to her maiden names with the prefix, Olori.
Aremu further alleged that from media reports Zeynab’s ‘actions prior to the statement made available to her spin doctors in a section of the media were not only fit for royalty, it was unbecoming of a personality occupying a highly historical, cultural and spiritual position.’
He argued that if Zeynab truly wanted to close that chapter in her life, she should gladly drop the ‘Olori’ title and move on.
