Colombia and Ajax defender Davison Sanches is reported having his medicals ahead of a club record £42m move to Tottenham Hotspur. The transfer fee which was agreed on Friday will see Sanches sign a six-year contract with the London club.
Sanches, 21, is capped two times by Colombia and is subjected to work permit but Spurs believe there will be no problem in securing a work permit for their most expensive buy.
“I would like to thank the coach, management, players and fans of Ajax. It is a great move for me to come here to develop my career,” Sanchez told the Spurs website on Friday.
“I am very excited to be signing for such a famous club as Tottenham Hotspur. I am looking forward to working with Mauricio Pochettino and the players and meeting everyone there.
Sanches played a huge part of the Ajax team that went all the way to the final of the Europa League last season but lost 2-0 to Manchester United.
