Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge went off the pitch with a thigh injury in the 87th minute after coming on as a second half substitute in Liverpool’s 3-0 pre-season win over Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup.

Sturridge picked up the injury as he scored the 3rd goal of the day, 15th minute after coming on and boss Jurgen Klopp is hoping that the thigh injury does not turn out to be too serious.

Asked how bad the injury was, Klopp told a post-match press conference: “I can’t say yet but he hurt his thigh. He has prepared well, really well, so I hope this is just a small injury and that he can play again soon.

The goal was great and he had a chance just before that. You could see how fast he is. It’s a shame and I hope it’s nothing serious.”
