The former Vice President has been under fire lately for his comment that APC has sidelined him after helping them win the 2015 presidential election while he was also backed by the Minister of Women Affairs for the 2019 presidential race.
Waziri of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has finally reacted to Aisha Alhassan’s words for supporting him against President Buhari come 2019.
Mama Taraba as she is fondly called while speaking on BBC Hausa openly admitted her support for Atiku and that has caused so much rave within the ruling party.
Atiku said: “In fact, she spoke the minds of many Nigerians and don’t forget that everyone has a right of association.
“Even then the president is aware of the Minister’s support for former VP Atiku; they (APC) know.
“So it should not surprise anybody because it is not a secret that the Minister has been behind us.
“Let me tell you, in the federal cabinet, other ministers have their views; they have people they support.
“People forget APC is a coalition and when people from different background unite, you cannot expect stakeholders to forget their root.
“What the Minister did was an act of courage and we thank and commend her. We advise those who share a similar opinion to also speak out.”
